What would you do if your ex owed you 15k and destroyed your credit?
The ex is certifiable – seriously. Mental illness is nothing to joke about, but I don’t think people come any more unstable than this one.
Given that, if your ex owed you 15k and refused to pay, would you seek a judgment in court?
Money is owed from a year’s worth of unpaid rent – well, payment had been good at first and then dwindled off after moving out of state. It was difficult to go through the eviction process from 700 miles away.
Let’s see, there are also stolen credit cards that got maxed out, a stolen washer, dryer and mattress, on top of having to re-carpet my entire house because there were neglected dogs who chewed and defacated on every inch of the carpet.
What a mess – I know, and the harrassment never stopped even though the break-up was 18 months ago & the ex is now engaged to someone else. There’s constant taunting and threats which would only get worse with a law suit.
Should this issue just be dropped, or is justice deserved?
Here’s what I think. Peace of mind is more valuable. I have been through something similar and found that all the litigation to be long and torturous. I let go of it all and have begun to restore my sanity through the concept of Karma. His, not mine. Justice will happen although perhaps through unknown ways. In my case, he married a gold digger who got nothing but toxic waste. He was miserable. LOL Anyway, I have never been happier, bankrupt but happy. Let it all go and realize that you are better off.
